About the Exhibition

More than a building.

A living record.

The history of Bond University Library is closely intertwined with the history of the University itself.

From the opening of the Robina campus in 1989 to the vibrant learning and research environment that exists today, the Library has played a central role in supporting the University's scholarly mission.

This exhibition explores the Library's changing locations, spaces, services and collections, revealing how it has adapted to meet the needs of successive generations of students, staff and researchers while remaining a cornerstone of campus life.

I joined Bond University as the University Librarian in February 2025 during Bond Together Week and was quickly immersed in the Bond community when Cyclone Alfred arrived three weeks later. After spending a memorable night sheltering on campus alongside students and colleagues, I saw firsthand the resilience and generosity that define Bond. Since then, our team has transformed collections, strengthened our digital and research capabilities, and shaped a clear strategic direction for the future.

Eighteen months on, I feel so privileged to lead Library Services, grateful for the support of wonderful colleagues and leaders who have made the journey so rewarding, and I'm proud to launch this first exhibition on our new digital archives platform. This exhibition opens up so many more opportunities to showcase Bond University's heritage, share our stories, and preserve our history.
